Big Brothers Big Sisters of Warren County matches children
primarily from single-parent families with volunteer
adult mentors who have been carefully screened, interviewed
and trained.
Children who have mentors in their lives do better in school
and at home, and avoid violence and substance abuse at a pivotal
time in their lives when even small changes in behavior, or
choices made, can change the course of their future.
We provide our services to children of all racial, economic
and demographic backgrounds, and we make our matches after
meeting with the parent, child and volunteer to identify common
interests and personality traits.
Throughout the duration of the match, the child and his or
her “Big” will spend quality one-on-one time together
doing everyday activities, like going to the movies, playing
ball, baking cookies, or any other activity the child, the
parent and the “Big” agree upon. Big Brothers
Big Sisters of Warren County also hosts several activities
throughout the year for Bigs and Littles. To learn more about
these activities, click here. |
